Happy Rainbow Blanket Pattern
The Happy Rainbow Blanket is a beautifully soft and cosy blanket, perfect to keep your little ones warm, as well as being a lap blanket for anyone. The pattern can be adjusted to use whatever brand of Aran yarn you prefer and the playful colours means you can keep this blanket nice and bright, or you can pick your own to match your home decor.
To make this blanket you will need:
530g Aran weight yarn (details are given below)
6mm hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Pattern Notes
For aran yarn the recommended crochet hook size is 5mm, however I want this blanket to be looser, so I have gone up a size to 6mm. The main stitch used throughout this blanket is the treble crochet, however we will be working in the front two loops of the stitch. This is what gives the blanket the striped/ribbed effect at the end.
To create a smooth rounded finish, the increases have been staggered. There are no increases on a previously increased stitch, when you are working on the main rainbow section. To make this pattern easier to follow I have included an accompanying chart along with the written instructions. Chain 2 counts as a stitch at the beginning of each round.UK crochet terms have been used.
